VENTED GAS LOG SETS Before purchasing a vented gas log set, check to make sure your fireplace complies with the following requirements; · Your fireplace must be venting properly. A gas log set is not an appropriate or alternate repair for an improperly venting fireplace. · Your fireplace and chimney must be clean and free of any creosote or obstructions. If your fireplace conforms to the requirements listed above, the following information will be helpful in determining the correct size log set for your fireplace. · The opening width, depth, and rear width measurements of your fireplace. · The type of gas you will be using (natural gas or propane). · A qualified, licensed plumber with experience installing as well as setting-up vented gas log sets must install the gas log set. Correct placement of the burner assembly is essential for safe, clean and efficient operation. · Be aware your flue damper must remain fully open at all times to provide the proper ventilation for the gas log set. · A properly fit glass door will reduce cold air drafts when you are not using your gas log set. · Do not attempt to operate your gas log set with the glass doors closed. The Fireplace Store is committed to providing the finest hearth products and information for the safest use of these products. For your assurance that your installation has been performed correctly, we can schedule an appointment with our service department to inspect your log set installation.
